Project is OVER

Parting out has begun. Car will return to winter use and run til the frame rusts out, and then, I'll probably take the motor and drop it in a cleaner shell.

Was fun while it lasted, learned, well, everything I know about cars now. Next project is likely going to be some fuel efficiency-type engineering feat or a DIY electric conversion.

RIP Project Sentra, live on in all-year-round, I-can't-afford-a-newer-car, gas-sipper beater duty, take me to the hills once again, through the slush and sleet, to the silent ninja pow drops on forested hillsides, to the grocery store, to the public library, through tunnels, over bridges...into the sunset.

Summer 2009

Yeah stuff is good, fresh oil and plugs, cap+rotor and she runs like new. Montreal sucks for bumpy roads, lowered cars have to drive slow and dodge potholes...ah well.

Gotta hit the track again soon. and get to the rust...

full GA16DE turbocharging setup for SALE

...that's right, folks, I am LIKELY not going this route any more. This is a COMPLETE custom kit I have been stockpiling for over 2 years now, and I even have the 3-inch exhaust to go with it (for a B13).

If anyone is interested, comment here and also keep an eye out on the Pulsar forums (aus), nissanforums, and sr20 forums (plus the Dash) as I will be making posts there soon.

I am not in a hurry to sell, and won't partout yet, but if you've been looking to go turbo, this kit will save you a lot of time and money.

dug out...

Car is out from behind the barn and ready to move. Not sure on whats going to happen (when's, more like) for the turbo, but in the meantime we're going ahead to get the stuff required for the body work - including removing the kit, stripping the interior, and isolating and removing all rust before repairing with sheetmetal. After that its prep from base-up, remolding on the body kit with epoxy properly and painting it a 300ZX purple color with, I believe, a wine red candy clear of some sort over that. So, it still won't be fast, but will handle well and look gooood.

Performance-wise, what I am willing to do right off the bat this year is to re-advance my ignition timing, swap on my built NX transmission with the Phantom Grip LSD (should improve cornering a LOT) with the light flywheel. On the lookout for bargain basement light crank pulley.

I'll keep the Interweb posted for all the cyberghosts not reading this blog.

...getting ready for spring...

So out at the farm, all the snow's melted behind the barn and the car is accessible once again...have to get out there this week and move it before the ground turns to mud!

Found a place to work on the car, out at Dave's place, the hookups...first things I'll be doing will be to swap on the light flywheel and tranny, then drive around and make sure everything is working OK. Then on to the turbo install, bit by bit, and is that goes well, the body work. Otherwise why bother, eh?!

Rebuilding the turbo, almost done. The greasemonkey who rebuilt it last time did a piss-poor job, and that's why it was full of coked oil on the exhaust side, the seals were improperly set. If you want something done right, get schooled-up and do it yourself...

Been BUSY!

So, anyone who was reading this blog probably abandoned it as a forgotten blog. Well, I've been busy with family and prepping my next career move...and then driving season ended...which precedes snowboard season. And we got a lot of the fluffy stuff, so car has been down on the list for some time.

Getting ready to do the body work (take care of all rust and dings, mold the body kit on, paint it a new but not-that-exciting color) and all the turbo parts are stocked.

So if I can figure out a place to do it, and get it done before summer, this car will reach the next stage of its existence, proper.
